At United Way of the Blue Mountains, we believe that financial stability is the foundation for a strong and thriving community. Unexpected crises, natural disasters, and economic hardships can leave individuals and families vulnerable, making it essential to have resources in place to provide immediate and long-term support. Through collaboration, strategic funding, and community-driven initiatives, we work to ensure that everyone has access to the assistance they need to regain stability and move forward.
Programs and Initiatives
Disaster Recovery Working Group
When disaster strikes, quick action and coordinated efforts are essential to helping communities recover. Our Disaster Recovery Working Group brings together local agencies, nonprofits, and community leaders to provide immediate assistance and long-term recovery solutions for those affected by natural disasters and crises. By working together, we ensure that individuals and families receive the support they need to rebuild and regain stability.
Blue Mountain Region Long-Term Recovery Group
Recovery doesn’t happen overnight. The Blue Mountain Region Long-Term Recovery Group is dedicated to helping communities rebuild after disasters by addressing long-term needs such as housing, employment, and financial assistance. By mobilizing resources and leveraging partnerships, we ensure that families and individuals affected by disasters have access to sustained support as they recover and rebuild their lives.
Gap-Filling Grants
Financial hardships don’t always fit within traditional assistance programs, leaving gaps that prevent individuals from receiving the help they need. Our gap-filling grants provide flexible funding to support local 501(c)(3) organizations to increase accessing health, education and financial security to individuals and families in our community. These grants help bridge the gap, offering a safety net for those who need it most.
United Way of the Blue Mountains is committed to strengthening financial security across our region. By investing in recovery efforts, providing emergency financial assistance, and ensuring that individuals have the resources they need to rebuild, we are creating a more resilient and financially stable community for all.
