My name is Jenny Foster and I’m the new Lead College and Career Readiness Advisor (CCRA). For 35 years, I’ve taught Spanish in high school and college and worked as an elementary and secondary school administrator. I grew up on a 500 acre grass seed farm in Oregon’s mid-Willamette Valley and have lived and spent time abroad in various Spanish-speaking countries since my teenage years. I am passionate about post-secondary education and pathways because I believe these formative years in high school are pivotal in shaping students’ futures. I am committed to helping young people discover their strengths, explore their options, and pursue meaningful college and career pathways that will serve them for a lifetime.
I’m excited to be the Lead CCRA for our southeast region, supporting the high schools in Walla Walla, Lincoln, College Place, Columbia, and Prescott. I help students and the CCRAs who work with them, plan for life after graduation, whether that’s college, career training, the military, or a job. I work with these schools through the Elevate initiative, funded by the Gates Foundation and led locally by United Way of the Blue Mountains.

Mi nombre es Jenny Foster y soy la nueva Asesora Principal de Preparación Universitaria y Profesional (CCRA, por sus siglas en inglés). Durante 35 años he enseñado español en la preparatoria y en la universidad, y he trabajado como administradora en escuelas primarias y secundarias. Crecí en una granja de 500 acres dedicada a la semilla de pasto en el valle medio de Willamette, en Oregón, y desde mi adolescencia he vivido y pasado tiempo en varios países de habla hispana. Siento una gran pasión por la educación y las oportunidades después de la preparatoria, porque creo que estos años formativos en la escuela secundaria son clave para moldear el futuro de los estudiantes. Estoy comprometida a ayudar a los jóvenes a descubrir sus fortalezas, explorar sus opciones y seguir caminos educativos y profesionales significativos que les sirvan para toda la vida.
Estoy muy emocionada de ser la Asesora Principal de la región sureste, apoyando a las preparatorias de Walla Walla, Lincoln, College Place, Columbia y Prescott. Ayudo a los estudiantes, y a los CCRAs que trabajan con ellos, a planificar su vida después de graduarse, ya sea que elijan la universidad, la capacitación profesional, el servicio militar o un empleo. Colaboro con estas escuelas a través de la iniciativa Elevate, financiada por la Fundación Gates y dirigida localmente por United Way of the Blue Mountains.
