Increasing Youth Opportunity

Every child deserves the tools and support they need to succeed in school and beyond. United Way of the Blue Mountain's Adopt-a-Student program provides access to funding for essential school-based needs—like sports gear, exam fees, and support for extracurricular activities—to students facing financial hardship. By partnering with local schools, businesses, and community members, this program helps remove barriers that stand in the way of a student’s success, ensuring they feel confident, included, and ready to learn. Together, we can build a stronger future for our youth.

Ways to Get Involved

School districts interested in bringing Adopt-a-Student to their community can partner with United Way of the Blue Mountains to identify students in need and create a sustainable support system. Each district forms a small committee to assess student needs, connect with local donors, and facilitate distribution. United Way of the Blue Mountains provides marketing materials, fundraising support, and manages the financial process, making it easy for schools to participate.
