My name is Nancy Gutierrez, and I’m excited to join the team as the new College and Career Readiness Advisor. As the youngest of four siblings and a proud first-generation college graduate with a Bachelor’s in Business Management from Walla Walla Community College, I understand firsthand the challenges students and families face, especially when navigating their future after high school. My parents, who immigrated from Mexico in the early 1980s, always encouraged me to graduate high school and pursue opportunities they didn’t have. Being bilingual, I am enthusiastic about bridging communication gaps and providing support to students from diverse backgrounds.
With my background in Family Engagement and Substitute Teaching from K-12, I am here to support both students and their families in exploring college, career, and life goals. My role will involve working closely with students, families, and staff to provide guidance on post-secondary options, scholarship opportunities, college applications, and career pathways. I look forward to collaborating with all of you to ensure that every student feels empowered and supported as they pursue their interests and full potential.

Mi nombre es Nancy Gutierrez, y estoy emocionada de unirme al equipo como la Asesora de Preparación Universitaria y Profesional. Soy la menor de cuatro hermanos y estoy orgullosa de ser la primera en mi familia en obtener un título universitario, con una Licenciatura en Administración de Empresas de Walla Walla Community College. Entiendo los desafíos que enfrentan los estudiantes cuando planifican su futuro después de la preparatoria. Mis padres, quienes emigraron de México a principios de los años 80, siempre me motivaron a graduarme de la preparatoria y a aprovechar las oportunidades que ellos no tuvieron. Siendo bilingüe, me apasiona reducir las barreras de comunicación y brindar apoyo a estudiantes de diversos orígenes.
Con mi experiencia en Participación Familiar, estoy aquí para apoyar tanto a los estudiantes como a sus familias en la exploración de opciones universitarias, profesionales y de vida. Trabajaré con estudiantes, familias y el personal para ofrecer orientación sobre opciones postsecundarias, oportunidades de becas, solicitudes universitarias y trayectorias profesionales.
Espero colaborar con todos ustedes para asegurar que cada estudiante se sienta empoderado y respaldado mientras sigue sus intereses y alcanza su máximo potencial.
